The argument in favor of using filler text goes something like this: If you use any real content in the Consulting Process anytime you reach.

Passive voice has a reputation problem. Many style guides treat it as a grammatical sin, something to be hunted down and eliminated. But passive constructions are not inherently wrong. They are a tool, and like any tool, they work brilliantly in some situations and badly in others. The trick is learning to spot them quickly, then making a deliberate choice rather than a fearful correction.
A passive construction typically uses a form of to be (is, are, was, were, been, being) plus a past participle: The report was written. You might also see get plus a past participle: The window got broken. The key marker is that the subject of the sentence is not the doer. The doer—if mentioned at all—appears after “by”: The report was written by the team.
You do not need to parse every sentence like a grammar exam. Ask two quick questions. First, find the main verb. Is it a form of “be” or “get” followed by a past participle? Second, ask: who or what is performing the action? If the subject is receiving the action rather than doing it, you have a passive construction.
Try it on these:
Notice that the passive examples are not all bad. Context decides. Your job is to notice, not to pounce.
There are several situations where passive wording serves readers better than active wording. When the doer is unknown, unimportant, or obvious, passive keeps the focus on the action or the receiver. The bridge was built in 1897 is cleaner than Builders built the bridge in 1897, because the identity of the builders adds nothing.
When you want to emphasise the receiver of the action, passive puts it first. In a scientific method, The solution was filtered keeps attention on the solution, not on who held the filter paper. When you need to be diplomatic or impersonal, passive can soften a blow. The invoice was not processed sounds less accusatory than You did not process the invoice. And when the active version would be awkward or misleading, passive is often the honest choice. The patient was given the wrong dose describes the event without falsely assigning blame to a named individual who may not have been at fault.
The danger is not passive voice itself; it is the reflex to turn every passive into an active sentence. That reflex creates three common problems.
Overcorrecting also makes your writing stiff. If you contort every sentence into subject–verb–object order, your prose can sound like a primary school exercise. Readers notice the effort, and it distracts from your message.
Here is a calm, repeatable process you can use on any draft. It takes a few minutes and saves you from both passive fog and active-voice zealotry.
Typing and writing accuracy is not about obeying a single rule. It is about matching your grammar to your meaning. Passive voice is not a weed to be pulled; it is a shrub that belongs in some gardens and not others. Learn to recognise it, then decide with your reader in mind. You will write with more confidence, and your edits will be faster and fairer.

Run-on sentences join independent clauses without proper punctuation; use full stops, semicolons, or conjunctions to separate ideas clearly.
